Cocaine Strip-Test detects if there are COC related substances in the urine of a person subjected to the test. Immunochemical reactions of antigens and antibodies provide fast and accurate results revealing if benzoylecgonines present as metabolites in urine.

In conformity with Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration drug screening cutoff edge for the cocaine is 300 ng/ml of COC.

Cocaine is consuming by smoking, sniffing or injection. Benzoylecgonine is a specific metabolite that discharges into the urine in a short time after cocaine intake.
Benzoylecgonine biological half-life is about 8 hours; and it can be found in the urine for up to few days after cocaine was taken.

PROCEDURE OF THE TEST

1. Draw out the test strip from its sterile individual pouch only when your urine sample is ready.
2. Holding the strip vertically steep it into the sample by the maximum level.
3. Analyze the obtained results in 5 minutes time.

Result window contains two sections: left and right section, Control Band and Test Band respectively. A clear color band should emerge in the left Control section to prove the test device validity. Otherwise the test is invalid. In a case of color band emerges in the Test area only, device is still considered defective.

NEGATIVE ANSWER: when both Control Band and Test Band emerge. The cut-off level of benzoylecgonine hasn’t been exceeded. It’s acceptable that color of the Test band could be of lighter than color of the Control Band.

POSITIVE ANSWER: when only of Control Band emerges. COC concentration of the sample exceeds the cut-off level.

If in about five minutes a very pale band is visible in the right Test section of the result window, the concentration of COC residues in the sample is slightly below the cut-off level. To prevent mistaken determination the specimen should be retested with another method, e.g. gas chromatography or mass spectrometry.
