They believe that this improves success of the detox program. The purpose of detoxification, in their opinion, is to wash down the body of the toxins loosened by cleanse. Using fruit and vegetable juices provide the organism with proper building material as the waste material is eliminated. The most important part of cleanse or fast is proper way of coming off the fast, allowing the body to gradually adjust itself to digest solid food again. Improper procedures of coming off the fast can cause illness and even death. For better results it is advised to be under the care of practitioners while fasting.
